OLRT Public Inquiry Hearings will begin June 13 at the University of Ottawa

Several Options Available to Follow the Hearings

The Commission will begin hearing the testimony of key witnesses involved in Stage 1 of the Ottawa Light Rail Transit Project.

The schedule of the hearings is available on the website of the Commission.

The Commission encourages the public to visit the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law, to watch the witnesses testify about important issues related to the Commission’s Terms of Reference.

The hearings will be open to the public and media from June 13, 2022, to July 8, 2022, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. There will be no hearings on July 1 due to the Canada Day holiday.

  • The public can watch the hearings via livestream in English, French or both in large auditoriums near the hearing room in Fauteux Hall (57 Louis Pasteur). Please take the elevator or stairs to the 3rd Floor to access the auditoriums. There are three language options.
    • English Room # 351
    • French Room # 359
    • Bilingual Room # 361
  • The media will have onsite access to the press room adjacent to the hearing room to watch the hearings (100 Thomas More Private – 2nd floor)
  • The livestream for the hearings will be available on the Commission’s website in English and French.
  • The hearings will also be broadcast on Rogers TV, channels 470 in English and 471 in French.

The list of witnesses for the public hearings and the list of over 90 witness examinations conducted by the Commission as well as the transcripts of over 80 witness examinations and participant’s Opening Statements for the hearings are available on the Commissions’ website that will continue to be updated.

  • The Ottawa Light Rail Transit Public Inquiry was established on December 16, 2021. Justice William Hourigan was appointed as the Commissioner of the Inquiry. Read Order in Council 1859/2021 here.
